2008-10-05 - Boston Harbor and the USS Constitution

Much more walking today and eventually ended at the Boston Harbor.  We took a boat cruise in the harbor...

over to the USS Constitution, also called Old Ironsides.  She is the world's oldest commissioned naval vessel still afloat, launched in 1797.  Her crew is all active duty navy personnel .  It is considered a very prestigious assignment.

We also found the Freedom Trail, a long brick line wanders through Boston helping to direct tourists to the many of the historical sites.

We saw the Old State House again...

and ended up at Bunker Hill (Bunker Hill Monument from the Harbor Cruise)..

Paul, Mary and Gary walked to the top of the monument, Alice waited below.  The views over Boston were great.
